Finger Friendly

On-screen toolbar for common functions (New contact, Edit contact, Smart find, and Clear find) and touch gestures for scrolling sideways through details and vertically through the list have been added to make the application extra finger friendly.

Key Match

Key match speeds up search time in the fast filter by matching the pattern of letters found on each key of the keypad.

Improved Fast Filter Performance

By delaying the lookup until there is a pause in typing, the fast filter now performs so much better, particularly with large databases.

Updated Clear Find

Now returns to the start of the list after a clear find.

Improved Fast Filter

Filter now matches the start of the word (not the middle as in previous versions).

Scrolling Performance

Scrolling is now 66% faster and at least 33% faster than the built in contacts when scrolling through the list.

Improved List View Icons

The MMS icon has been removed to free up space and make the contact easier to read, however the SMS icon is still present for one-touch SMSing.

Improved Menu Layout

The menu is now available in one screen, no more scrolling required!

Fast Zoom Access

Tap on the DreamConnect 3 icon to reveal a quick access menu to adjust the zoom level.

Improved Zoom

To suit coming phone models, the zoom levels have been adjusted to suit smaller screens and maintain finger friendliness.

Improved Business Card Layout Display

Information is now much easier to read thanks to changes made to fonts and fomatting.

Improved Contact Import Performance

Importing contacts into DreamConnect 3 is now faster thanks to improvements made in the way this data is transferred.

New Languages

Now supporting Danish and Taiwan Traditional Chinese.

Thoroughly Tested

Not only is it Symbian Signed, it has also been tested to support the G700 and G900, and has been tested on databases with up to 5000 contacts.

Online help is available on the phone. Help can be found in the "more" menu in DreamConnect 3.

Faster Start Up

Start up time for DreamConnect 3 has been reduced by up to 20% over previous versions.

Smart Find Search Time

Smart find search time has been reduced.

Fast Filter Response Time

Fast filter response time is now instantaneous, even in large databases.

Smooth Contact Scrolling

Scrolling in the detail view is now faster, as non-actionable text is skipped when scrolling.

Added Export Functionality

DreamConnect 3 v3.02 adds export functionality. Users are now able to export contact details along with groups and, optionally, private notes.

Other performance improvements and enchancements

  • A delete messaging group feature has been added.
  • The merge contact feature is improved, and its undo/redo operation uses a progress bar.
  • There is now better support for flip open and flip closed mode for P990 users, and the number of panics has been significantly reduced.
  • Sending an SMS from DreamConnect 3 now displays the name instead of the recipient number.
  • The list in group messaging now displays associated icons for each detail, which makes it easy to recognize what detail you are looking at whether it be home, work, standard, mobile, phone etc.
  • The clear text command for the fast filter is easily accessible. It displays on the toolbar in the pen mode and on the top of the menu pane in soft key mode.
  • Send As SMS is now working.
  • Set Owner contact is now working.
  • Category management (add, rename, delete) has been improved, it is more stable.
  • Photo display after taken from the camera has been improved.
  • Settings (Sorting, Validation, Zoom level, Undo/Redo memory usage) are saved as soon as they are modified, so the settings persist even when the phone is switched off, the system exits the application, or the user exits the application.
  • The progress bar now appears on start up on the W950.
  • The validation progress bar during the startup is now smoother, and overall start up time has been reduced.
  • Category creation with the New folder command in the detail view now adds the viewed contact automatically to the new group.
  • The Send as MMS feature is now available in the detail view.
